That thing was hit hard  at some point. It looks like the entire right rear quarter panel is probably a slab of bondo, to go along with the looks to be not right deformation on the around the license plate area and the shouldn’t be painted over plate mounting hardware.

Was thinking the same. No way in hell a Milano (or Roma) Red Honda has survived that long with original paint.

Definitely hit. You can see in the pic of the back square on that the gap for the trunk lid lines up on the left side, but is a gap on the right.

I owned a ‘96 DX many moons ago. Unless it’s been garaged, the paint just does not hold up.

New Formula Red isn’t holding up well on a lot of S2000s either. San Marino seems to be Honda’s most durable red by a long margin.
